Welcome to the Engineering Pack-A-Palooza summer honors program! This exciting project immerses you in the role of a consulting firm, working as Packaging Engineers to help brand and commercialize a startup company’s new sauce product. Your mission is to take the product from concept to market-ready, focusing on packaging design, food safety, transportation, and sustainability.

Role: Packaging Engineer Consultant

Client: A startup company launching a new sauce

Choose Sauce Bottles: Select the appropriate bottle type for the sauce.

Choose Sauce: Determine the specific type of sauce to be packaged.

Test Sauce for Food Safety: Ensure the sauce is safe for consumption using a pH meter.

Clean and Sanitize Bottles: Prepare the bottles to maintain product integrity.

Fill Bottles: Accurately fill the bottles with the chosen sauce.

Add Dispensing Feature: Incorporate an opening reducer or other dispensing feature.

Seal Bottles: Secure the sauce with an appropriate cap.

Tamper Evidence: Apply shrink seals for tamper evidence.

Label Design: Create eye-catching graphics for the bottle label using tools like Adobe Express or Canva.

Print and Apply Labels: Produce and attach the labels to the bottles.

Tertiary/Secondary Packaging Design: Develop the structure using ArtiosCAD.

Graphics for Packaging: Design visuals for the tertiary or secondary packaging.

Print and Apply Graphics: Ensure the packaging reflects the brand’s identity.

Packaging System Test: Evaluate the packaging's durability and effectiveness.

Life Cycle Analysis: Assess the environmental impact using Trayak tools.

Redesign and Polish: Refine the product packaging based on test results.

Showcase Your Work: Present the final product and packaging, demonstrating your solutions and innovations.
